Just Keep swimming...

Hello Folks,

The ’Tao of Nemo’ tells us that no matter what obstacles you face in life, “just keep swimming”. This works for musicians as well as little fishies, and I’ve been doing a lot of swimming in recent years. This swimming has allowed me to explore many new waters doing, among other things, handy-man work and upcycling furniture, endeavours in which you’ve supported me well - thank you! In fact, sometimes I forget that I’m a musician: I recently remarked to a friend that, when it comes to re-purposing furniture, I wasn’t sure what my ‘thing’ was yet. She said, “Kevin, your ‘thing’ is playing guitar!” Oh, yeah - thanks Amanda! And so to that end, I’m pleased to tell you about some new playing engagements - hope to see you there so that we can discuss the ‘Tao of Nemo’ (and whether or not sharks are our friends)…

On Saturdays, beginning this week, I’ll be at Unique Food Attitudes from 12:00 until 2:00. This anchor in the Old East village features what I like to think of as “Polish comfort food” as well as contemporary local favourites. The ‘cherry on top’, though, is the warm and friendly service provided by owner Barb Cycz and her staff – they are hospitality personified and you will come away with full hearts as well as full bellies. Oh, and they have good taste in music, too ;-)

Saturday May 30, June 6, 13, 20, 27.

Time: 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Unique Food Attitudes

697 Dundas Street, London

(519) 649-2225

On Fridays, commencing June 5, I’ll be at La Noisette Bakery from 6:00 until 8:00. Nearly one year young, La Noisette is the creative passion of owners Tabitha Switzer and David Coulter who produce an endless array of specialty cakes, homemade soups and sandwiches, individual pastries and so much more. Oh, and their coffee supplier is well known local roaster Patrick Dunham (‘Patrick’s Beans’). They also have good taste in music…

Friday June 5, 12, 19 and 26.

6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

La Noisette Bakery

900 Oxford St E, London

(519)-601-1651

Hope to see you there so that we can discuss the ‘Tao of Nemo’ (and whether or not sharks are our friends)…

Kevin
